So I just ordered the engine head gasket. Service manual is not clear about engine head removal. So, my question: Is there any complication? So, after removing both shafts and the 8 head bolts... what do I do with the chain? Just cross the engine head over it? And what about the blade? I understand that I do not have access to the base of the chain, so do I have to hold it in order to remove the engine head and replace that gasket? thanks...

Have you had the bird from new, or buy it used ? Has the motor to your knowledge at anytime run hot, low on cooling fluid, etc ?
I could suspect the the head to be warped or otherwise not flat. When you get it apart, you have to carefully check both head and engine block with a ruler, see if the are any air gaps.
About your questions, the cam chain is not a problem. Just attach a thin wire to it, lift the head off, pull the wire through, and attach the wire to the frame afterwards. After fitting the head and camshafts again, the chain will by it self catch the sprocket below, no need to keep it under tension.

I have seen oil come out of them spilled into the spark plug voids when removing the cam cover. Might be worth a check. If you are pulling the head it's probably worth while using new head bolts.
